Product Description

Do you know Donnerhall? "Yes, of course", everybody knows Donnerhall. The marvelous chestnut horse with that impressive stallion neck. World Team Champion, the most successful dressage horse in 1994. Or do you know the breeding stallion Donnerhall, stationed at Grönwohldhof stud farm in Schleswig-Holstein, North Germany? But do you also know that his breeder was anything but happy when he saw the little Donnerhall the first time after he was born? Do you know what his dam or his sire looked like?

This video film answers all those questions and gives insight to Donnerhall's life. Contemporary witnesses are talking about him, archive footage is showing the unique career of this exceptional equestrian personality. The portrait is rounded off by information and pictures about Donnerhall's sons and grandchildren. You will see this legend incognito at home and turned out in full dress during performances on the international level. The author, Jan Tönjes, editor of the magazine "St. Georg", pursued Donnerhall's career over the years. He confesses: "I am an absolute Donnerhall-fan!" The film was produced 1997 by Thomas Vogel, for many years colleague of Hans Joachim Köhler, Germany's horseman no. 1. He has created an outstanding film portrait about this unique stallion.
