The carefully established breeding plans and strict selection principles of Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek are shown with the help of pictures from stallion licensing in Leeuwarden, the central stallion performance test in Drachten and a breeding show in Esbeek. Raising up youngsters and keeping stallions are also part of this magnificent film as well as visiting legendary, however unfortunately in the meantime deceased Preferent-stallion Hearke and a German breeding show. A special highlight is a daily report about the Royal Marstall in Den Haag where Friesian horses are faithfully in line of duty still today.
Friesian horses are able to do nearly everything: they are riding and driving horses and partners for leisure time and sport. Pictures from famous Roncalli circus reveal that Friesian horses are also able to perform there. The European Friesian Horse Festival in Luhmühlen 1993 was an outstanding success. Here, the camera was present as well, and the beautiful pictures of this marvelous event are the final highlight of this film.
